Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 25, 2026
Noor ("the app") is an offline dhikr and vajifa counter for iPhone and iPad. This policy explains — plainly and completely — how the app handles your information. The short version: Noor does not collect any data.
1. Data Noor collects: none
Noor does not collect, transmit, sell, rent, or share any personal information. Specifically, the app has:
- No user accounts or sign-up
- No servers and no backend communication from the app's own features
- No analytics, crash-reporting, or telemetry SDKs
- No advertising or ad identifiers
- No trackers, cookies, or fingerprinting
- No location access, no contacts, no photos, no microphone, no camera
2. Data stored on your device only
Everything you create in Noor lives locally on your device:
- Your counting history (sessions, daily totals, streaks)
- Custom dhikr entries you add to the library
- Your vajifa plans and their progress
- Reminder schedules you create
- Your preferences (theme, colors, fonts, sound and vibration modes)
This information is stored in Apple-protected on-device storage (SwiftData and a shared app-group container). It is never uploaded anywhere by the app.
3. Widgets and Live Activities
Home Screen widgets and the Lock Screen Live Activity read and write the same local storage described above so they can show your live count. These surfaces run entirely between your device's system and the app; no data leaves the device.
4. Notifications
Reminders are scheduled as local notifications. They are generated by your device itself at the times you choose. No push notifications are sent, because there is no server to send them. If you deny notification permission, reminders simply will not appear; nothing else changes.
5. Data deletion
You can delete all of your data at any time by deleting the Noor app from your device. Because everything is stored locally, deleting the app removes all counting history, custom dhikrs, vajifa plans, reminders, and preferences completely and irreversibly. There is nothing held on a server to purge afterwards.
6. Third-party services
Noor is built with Apple frameworks (SwiftUI, SwiftData, WidgetKit, ActivityKit, UserNotifications). Apple may process limited diagnostic information under its own privacy terms if you enable analytics sharing in iOS Settings; that is controlled by Apple and by you, not by Noor. The app adds no third-party services of its own.
7. Children's privacy
Noor is not directed at children under 13 and — because it collects no data at all — it cannot knowingly collect information from children.
8. Security
Your data is stored in your device's sandboxed storage and is protected by device-level encryption when your device is locked. We recommend using a device passcode for the strongest protection.
9. Changes to this policy
If a future version of Noor ever changes how data is handled, this page will be updated and the change will be reflected in the app's release notes before that version ships.
